Ex-Giles County football star hits snag at Ole Miss
Friday, January 27, 2012 | 9:51 pmBo Wallace, a Mr. Football winner at Giles County and The Tennessean’s Player of the Year in 2009, has gotten off to a bit of a rough start at Ole Miss.
A midyear signee earlier this month after a record-setting fall at East Mississippi Community College, Wallace was cited on Jan. 19 for underage possession of alcohol.
As reported by the Jackson (Miss.) Clarion-Ledger on Wednesday:
Wallace was issued a post-arrest citation for MIP at 10:15 p.m. Thursday at Rooster’s Blues House on the Square, according to Oxford Police Chief Mike Martin.
He set national records for passing yards (4,604) and touchdowns (53). The 6-foot-5, 215-pound Wallace has three years of eligibility remaining.
Wallace is expected to be near the top, if not at the top, of Ole Miss’ depth chart for spring practice.
UPDATE: In a statement, coach Hugh Freeze said that we was aware of the citation and that he “will address it internally.”
